For week 9, iterated on the thesis paper accroding to the feedback and finished up animation chapter 1
In the latest iteration of my thesis paper, I focused on refining the logic in Chapter 3, specifically the transition from design goals to design solutions. I began by providing an overview of the proposal and prototyping process, followed by a sub chapter-by-chapter explanation of how key design decisions are directly connected to the initial design goals. This structure makes the content more accessible to readers who are not familiar with the project.
Additionally, I revised the language used in the research questions and design goals to make them more specific and better aligned with the later sections of the paper.
I also added a new sub chapter discussing how the storytelling way in this project can be developed into a transferable methodology applicable to different cultural contexts. And added a call back with example in the conclusion part.
This week, I also completed Chapter 1 of the animation and began working on parts of Chapter 2. Chapter 1 now includes a complete storytelling arc, from receiving the emperor's order to gaining inspiration. The final segment, which addresses the misunderstanding caused by currency incompatibility, was particularly challenging to animate.
Chapter 2 will have a slightly different style compared to Chapter 1. While Chapter 1 focuses more on narrative, Chapter 2 will present the steps of crafting the Chaspharong coin in a more abstract and expressive manner. This approach helps avoid making this section feel too dry and also keeps it slightly shorter than the first chapter.
